NORTH LANCS LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
At the conclusion of all four galas I am pleased to announce that Southport is the North Lancs. Premier club, for 2008, winning the first division with some ease.
NORTH LANCS LEAGUE DIVISION THREE
All four league rounds have now taken place and Southport are crowned as Division 3 Champions and are now promoted to Division 2 in the 2009 season.
MICRO LEAGUE DIVISION A
The Junior Aqua team have also topped their league, comfortably winning all four matches taking them into the Division A swim off on 6th September against Preston, Fleetwood and Pioneer 79 (Accrington). The winners of this, which should be Southport swim in the North of England Final against the other top 5 teams from the north.
MICRO LEAGUE DIVISION B
After a close league finish the junior Beaver team just got pipped out of top spot by Carnforth. This league position far out weighed the coach’s expectations for the Beavers. This outstanding result places them in the swim off for promotion into Division A for the 2009 season. This will take place on 20th September against Carnforth and the bottom two clubs from Division A, Chorley and Newton Hall. I’m sure they can join the Aqua’s in 2009 in Division A and this would be the first time ever one club has had two teams in the premier league. Come on you Beavers.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Best of luck to all the swimmers competing in The National Championships in Sheffield at the end of July beginning of August, they are Stephen Taylor, Jack Scott, Jordan Macdonald, Sam Delmonte, Laura Hyland, Zoe Patrickson, Laura Halsall, Liz Simpkin, Charlotte Disley and Lauren Cheston.
