For the second year in succession Southport Swimming Club are the North Lancashire first division champions. In the final gala at Leyland they won comfortably to be crown as the top team. Through out all four matches they were never really put under any pressure winning all four matches by more than 30 points. Well done to all the team.

NORTH LANCS SENIOR LEAGUE DIVISION 2
With one match to go Southport are still in joint first position with Blackpool.

INTER ASSOCIATION
The inter association is when swimmers are selected to swim for the Liverpool and District Team. (10 – 14yrs). The team is selected from swimmers from North Wales, Chester, around to Warrington, St. Helens and Southport, including all the Wirral and Liverpool swimmers. Southport swimmers in more recent years have been the back bone for the District team, which was also reported in the District annual report.
This year I’m glad to say is no different in fact it’s better. Two thirds of the boy’s team are Southport Swimmers and our girls have more swimmers in the team than any other club. The competition takes place at the end of May in Salford where the team competes against swimmers stretching from the Scottish boarder down the Pennines to the midlands. Well done to all the swimmers who have been selected.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
I’m pleased to say Laura Hyland, Jack Scott and Charlotte Disley have achieved more National Age Group qualification times at various open meets that are spread across the country. Well done to all three of you.
